3 days backpacking Krabi Itinerary

3 days backpacking Krabi Itinerary

Are you looking for an itinerary to Krabi? There are countless things to do in the area, as Krabi is known for its karst mountains and beautiful beaches. The site is on the west coast of Thailand, in the Andaman Sea. Located across from Phuket, it’s a great alternative as it’s easier to bypass the main attractions. I spent four days in Krabi and then returned for a week because I loved it.

If this is your first time in Krabi, you may feel overwhelmed with everything to do here and wonder how many days you should spend here. Well, I’ve got your back. In this travel guide, you will find a complete Krabi itinerary for 3-5 days with all the information you need to have a great time here and see why Krabi is one of the best places to visit in Thailand.

Although Krabi is smaller than Phuket, there are still several areas, and that’s all you need to know:

Day 1: Hiking The Dragon Crest Trail and Relaxing

Upon arrival in Krabi, spend the first night resting and preparing snacks and at least 2 liters of water because the next day, we will tackle one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Krabi first thing in the morning.

The Dragon Crest viewpoint, known locally as Khao Ngon Nak, is probably one of the best viewpoints in Krabi. Located in Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park, the trail takes you to the top of Khao Ngon Nak mountain, where you can have an unobstructed view of Krabi and see why Krabi is one of the most beautiful places in Thailand.

The trail is approximately 3.7km one way and may take 2-4 hours to reach the top, depending on your fitness level. The course starts flat but then gets steep for the 2nd-4th kilometer before you reach the top. So make sure you’re in good shape before heading on the trail.

Day 2: The 4 Island-Hopping Boat Trip

On your second day, we will take an organized excursion to explore the islands of Krabi, which is one of the most popular activities here. Make sure you book the 4-day island excursion in advance so they can reserve a spot and arrange a pick-up time. The trip lasts from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. And don’t forget to pack your bathing suit.

After Railay, you will be transferred back to Ao Nang and dropped back to your hotel between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Get ready for the next day because you will experience another adventure and go back home.

Day 3: Relaxing Beach Day at Ao Nang/Railay

If you have one more day, you can spend the rest of your time immersing yourself in all the beauty of Krabi and enjoying a nice lazy day, strolling on Ao Nang Beach, or taking a local boat and spending time exploring. Everyone. The attractions in Railay that you may not be able to see during the 4 Islands tour.

You can visit the beautiful Phra Nang Cave Beach and Phra Nang Cave Sanctuary outside of tourist hours and see the true beauty of the place when day trippers do not bombard it.

Apart from that, Railay Beach is a great place to spend your last day in Krabi and a great way to end your trip. Again, you can do nothing in Ao Nang for the rest of the day and relax – after four action-packed days, you deserve a good rest. After all, you’re on vacation, so why not take the time and enjoy the beauty of doing nothing for a day?
