The City of Beaches and Resorts: Pattaya sees many travelers throughout the year. Anyone visiting Thailand should visit the magnificent city of Pattaya. It is a picturesque city with attractive sights. Hotspots and party spots aside, Pattaya is a must-see.
Utapao Rayong-Pattaya International Airport
If you travel to Pattaya, you will likely fly into U-Tapao Rayong Pattaya International Airport. It is the only airport in Pattaya and has a Royal Thai Navy air base. It is the closest international airport to Bangkok (140 km southeast of Bangkok), apart from Suvarnabhumi and Don Meuang International Airport. Both airports need to be more open, making it difficult to fly to Bangkok. However, Pattaya International Airport is a destination for diversions to all parts of Thailand due to its proximity and facilities.
A new terminal was Pattaya Airport’s latest expansion project, allowing for a year-round capacity of 3 million passengers. It serves both local and international flights. The number of flights is increasing as Air Asia introduces a more significant number of flights to and from Pattaya and a considerable increase in the number of Chinese airlines.
