Airports in Pattaya: A Guide To U-Tapao Rayong Pattaya International Airport

The City of Beaches and Resorts: Pattaya sees many travelers throughout the year. Anyone visiting Thailand should visit the magnificent city of Pattaya. It is a picturesque city with attractive sights. Hotspots and party spots aside, Pattaya is a must-see.

Utapao Rayong-Pattaya International Airport

If you travel to Pattaya, you will likely fly into U-Tapao Rayong Pattaya International Airport. It is the only airport in Pattaya and has a Royal Thai Navy air base. It is the closest international airport to Bangkok (140 km southeast of Bangkok), apart from Suvarnabhumi and Don Meuang International Airport. Both airports need to be more open, making it difficult to fly to Bangkok. However, Pattaya International Airport is a destination for diversions to all parts of Thailand due to its proximity and facilities.

A new terminal was Pattaya Airport’s latest expansion project, allowing for a year-round capacity of 3 million passengers. It serves both local and international flights. The number of flights is increasing as Air Asia introduces a more significant number of flights to and from Pattaya and a considerable increase in the number of Chinese airlines.

Services and Facilities

Internet Cafe: There is an Internet Cafe for those who don’t have a data connection and want to access the Internet for work or pleasure. It makes it convenient for those traveling on business. You can transport and use the internet cafeteria.

Information Desk: For those visiting Pattaya for the first time and need information or can otherwise get information about Pattaya Airport or the city. Good support from friendly staff is always helpful.

Cafeteria: jet lag or not, coffee is always a good idea. There is a cafeteria at the airport where you can sit down and enjoy your favorite beer after your arrival or before your flight departs. Anyone can access it.

Restaurants: In and around the airport: There are restaurants serving food from different cultures worldwide. You name any food from the kitchen; here you get it. Restaurants like Eatery Garden, KFC, and Aunty Annie’s are available here. So you can enjoy a quick bite or a fancy meal at the airport.

There are restaurants around the airport if you prefer to avoid eating in the airport or if you get hungry after the flight. From Indian food to bars, everything is there. Chutney India, Red Chilli, Beer Corner, Khadoya Restaurant, and The Hiding Place Coffee Shop are the few restaurants surrounding the airport. It’s convenient as you can grab a bite and not worry about missing your flight.

Important Notice

If you are traveling via U-Tapao International Airport, make sure not to take photos from the airplane window during landing or takeoff, as it is a base of the Royal Thai Navy Air Station, a slightly sensitive airport. There are no lounges or exotic services at the airport, but it is rapidly evolving to accommodate more passengers annually, along with a high-tech upgrade for luxury. In general, Pattaya Airport is well-developed. Sure that you will not have any problems or difficulties during the trip. Customs and immigration are also quick and easy. There is absolutely no worry at U-Tapao International Airport. Make sure you bring all your documents, and you will be neat.
