Ao Sane is a rocky beach on the southwest coast of Phuket and one of the island’s most enchanting little secrets. The diving and snorkeling at this beach are excellent, and the beach’s character is best summed up in the word ‘quiet.’ Ao Sane has enough trees lining its edge to shelter from the sun at any time of the day and plenty of sand for sun-worshippers. With rudimentary bungalows and a restaurant, it sometimes feels like a small community. To get to Ao Sane, drive to Nai Harn Beach and follow the road below Nai Harn, the 5-star hotel at the north end of the beach.
After driving through the hotel grounds, drive up the hill, and you will come to a small car park with a path leading to the beach. It’s possible to go down this hill in a vehicle, but since it’s challenging, most visitors choose to park at the top and walk down. Ao Sane in Phuket is a small, quiet beach with three bays. One can often find people here enjoying the low-key tropical life, sampling delicious seafood at the local restaurants, or even snorkeling. There are also some beautiful bamboo huts for rent along the coast.

Ao Sane Beach activities
Due to the rocks on the beach, the rough texture of its sand, and the steep slope to the sea, there are few sports like volleyball and football at Ao Sane beach. However, there is no denying that it is an excellent spot for snorkeling and diving. You must bring a mask and fins as they are not rented on the beach.
