  • 2 pandan leaves (optional)


  1. Rinse the rice in cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a medium-sized pot, combine the rice, water, coconut milk, turmeric powder, and salt. If you have pandan leaves, you can add them now.
  3. Stir the ingredients well and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  4. Once the mixture has come to a boil, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid.
  5. Cook the rice for about 20 minutes, or until all the liquid has been absorbed and the rice is tender.
  6. Remove the pot from the heat and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  7. Fluff the rice with a fork, and it is ready to serve.
