The park is the largest in the entire exotic country and continues Myanmar’s Tanintharyi Nature Reserve, just under a two-hour drive from Bangkok. The park occupies a 2,915 square meter lushly forested area home to tremendous biodiversity and is one of the country’s most popular tourist attractions. The towering mountain, spectacular waterfalls and dark caves in Kaeng Krachan National Park make it a natural area worth visiting. Tourists enjoy hiking through the dense rainforest while bird watchers are fascinated to see multiple species here.

However, the incredible variety of wildlife proves to be the biggest draw for visitors who want to see the park’s gigantic elephants, beautiful barking deer and menacing Asian leopards.

Wildlife Viewing:

It is relatively easy to spot wildlife within the park grounds. If you stroll, you will discover a treasure trove of flora and fauna, with jackals, squirrels and monkeys seen almost everywhere. However, a guided tour can help tourists spot predators from a safe distance, just like spotting a herd of elephants from afar.

There are several campgrounds in Kaeng Krachan National Park, with the location of the headquarters offering connectivity and city services. However, this is outside the rainforest area and is not as suitable for observing animals in their natural habitat as Ban Krang Camp, which is the focal point for bird and butterfly sightings.
