Karon Beach is located on the west coast of Phuket and is the third longest beach in Phuket. Nestled between Patong to the north and Kata to the south, it’s a sprawling and uncrowded spot for those seeking quiet time. Karon Beach has some great snorkeling spots and crystal clear, clean waters that are a joy to swim in. Karon has three main areas. Karon Beach Road leads to the beach where most of the major resorts are located.
Then there is the Karon Centre, a 500-meter-long street in the busy little city center with lots of great restaurants and shopping for tourists. Karon Center is flanked on the beach by the elegant Karon Circle, and on the inland side is the majestic Wat Suwan Khiri Khet or Karon Temple. This beautiful Buddhist temple also hosts a famous 14-day local market. The area around Luang Poh Chuan Road is located at the southern end of the beach, which is the nightlife hub. This last area comes alive at sunset and is always lively late into the night.

Go to the beach. Swim, snorkel, build sandcastles with your kids, or lounge on a beach bed under an umbrella. It is the only beach in Phuket where daily volleyball nets are set up for public use. Try them out, and you can even make new friends.
