Ko Jum

Ko Jum

Ko Jum, one of Krabi’s islands, has become a popular tourist resort away from other busy locations in Thailand. This island is approximately 25 kilometers south of Krabi and is noted for its laid-back culture. Koh Jum, like its neighboring islands, Koh Phi and Koh Lanta, has a variety of seafood eateries and bungalow resorts, making it an attractive beachside destination for both domestic and international tourists.

The trip from central Krabi to Koh Jum is relatively easy. This island is easily accessible by boat or ferry, which operates multiple times daily. The northern portion of this island is covered with Ko Puh’s forested peaks, while the southern part is covered with scrubland and rubber. Ko Jum is not just a location for relaxation; it also offers a variety of activities, such as snorkeling, scuba diving, and trekking, as well as several lovely spots to visit, including Ting Rai Beach, Magic Beach, and Ao Si Beach. However, the leisurely pace of this location is the only reason why people frequently visit this location.

Things to do:

  • Snorkeling and Scuba Diving are available for anyone who like to explore the marine life and flora of this island’s waterways.
  • Those interested in surfing will find that these waves are ideal for practise and family-friendly activities.
  • Koh Phi Phi, Koh Ha Yai, and King Cruiser Wreck are excellent diving destinations.
  • The Ko Puh Mountains contain one of the most popular hiking trails. A small number of roadways serve Ko Jum. Even if they aren’t set in stone, it’s always a good idea to grab a bike and hit the road!

Important tips:

  • Due to the comparatively unspoiled nature of this island, it is advisable not to travel alone if feasible. Even if one wishes to travel alone, it is vital to have travel insurance.
  • Beware of salespeople who attempt to convince you to purchase goods or services at a discount.
  • Have faith in online pricing. Pack lightly.
  • Carry beach-appropriate and comfy clothing and footwear.
  • Maintain identification at all times. Keep all valuables safe.

This island is excellent for people who want a luxurious vacation and a simple place to escape the busy Krabi life. Tourists can choose to stay in luxury villas with free Wi-Fi and room service 24 hours a day, seven days a week. But Ko Jum also has places to stay that are cheap and comfortable for backpackers and other travelers on a budget. There are also accommodations in the middle price range.

How to Reach Overview

The best way to get to Ko Jum is by taking a ferry from Krabi’s Klong Jilad Pier. Ko Jum is also close to the airport in Krabi. You can take public or private transportation from the airport to the ferry pier and buy ferry tickets. After dropping you off, the ferry goes right to Koh Lanta.

Please keep in mind that this ferry only runs from November to April. At other times, you’d have to hire a Longtail Boat to get where you wanted to go.
