Koh Racha

Koh Racha

Located 38 km south of Phuket, Koh Racha contains stunning islands, lovely cottony white sand beaches, non-violent bars, and the incredible snorkelling and diving spots. The locals may be heard calling them Koh Raya islands. These pairs of islands are recognised for their clean turquoise water and coral reef, leading them to a super location for divers to visit. The wide variety of sea creatures, ocean gibbers, deep water wrecks and coral reefs make Koh Racha the first-class diving spot withinside the entire of Thailand. Koh Racha Yai is the more oversized island, and Koh Racha Noi is the smaller one, with the previous being more developed. You also will discover a higher choice of restaurants, bars, and bread and breakfast alternatives at Koh Racha Yai Island than at Koh Racha Noi. The indoors of the island are steep and packed with distinguished vegetation. You can trek at the marked paths to get to the flatter areas. Most travellers opt for Koh Racha Yai over Noi because the latter is uninhabited, and there are no lodging alternatives. If you are seeking a quiet time far from the metropolis amidst secluded picturesque beaches, Koh Racha Yai is your location.

Things to do at Koh Racha

Diving and Snorkeling:

Nothing says adventure like exploring the underwater world. From discovering a lost shipwreck to interacting with incredible marine life, the Koh Racha Islands have several unique bays for snorkelling. Depths at these sites range from 2 to 25 meters. You may not see the prettiest coral, but you’re bound to see a few eagle and manta rays.

Stargazing:

Most places on Koh Racha Yai close when the sun goes down. The night sky welcomes you with millions of twinkling stars thanks to the low level of light pollution. Lie down on the sand with a warm blanket to admire nature.

Snuba:

This unique sport is a hybrid of snorkelling and diving for children aged 8+. Like scuba diving, Snuba is in shallow water but infused with shallow seabed diving. This new form of activity on the island attracts many tourists.

Kayaking:

Kayaking is everyone’s favourite island activity. Kayaking in the clear emerald waters of Koh Racha around the beautiful little bay will be an experience of a lifetime. Most resorts on the island offer kayak rentals.

Places To Visit:

Siam Beach:

Located on the other side of the island, this beach is deserted, so that you can have a good time here without the hustle and bustle.

Batak Bay

This is an excellent spot for snorkelling. The water in the area is warm and shallow. You can also take a leisurely swim in the calm waters or sit by the water and watch the beautiful fish swim by.

Coral Island

Known locally as Koh Hae, this is a great day out for most people. The two main beaches on this island offer great views where you can enjoy a candlelit dinner while watching the sunset.

How to reach Koh Racha

You can reach Koh Racha Island by boat from Rawai Beach or Chalong Pier. Some speedboats take only 35 minutes to reach Racha Island. A boat ride from Chalong Pier costs almost 1,200 THB. The longtail boats from Rawai Beach take over an hour to reach Koh Racha Island.

Best time to visit

Visiting Koh Racha will be fun from November to April. These months are best for diving and other activities as they offer the best visibility. The low season, which starts in May and lasts until October, may not be an ideal time to be on the island, as heavy rains and gale-force winds surround the island. Island throughout the season.
