Monkey Hill is another name for Toh Sae Hill in Phuket Town, the reason why after a few hundred meters, it becomes pretty apparent when you come across a group of Macaques eating fruit. One of the highest hills in Phuket Town, Monkey Hill is home to some TV and radio stations and is a popular recreation spot where locals go jogging every day. In 2015 a custom platform was built on the top of the mountain (on the bend in front of the TV stations), offering a stunning viewpoint over Phuket Town.

Toh Sae Hill, or Monkey Hill, is often visited by tourists who enjoy watching the playful creatures on their mischievous antics. Tricks A considerable tourist attraction seeing a variety of unique macaque monkeys, Monkey Hill is also the highest hill in Phuket. Here you will find some radio and TV stations and a running and recreation spot for the locals. A dedicated platform was set up in 2015 and offered tourists and locals an impressive view of the city. The shrine at the bottom of the hill is also quite famous here.

Highlights of Monkey Hill in Phuket

A local known as Pae Hog (aka Uncle Hog) often put on a “show” with the macaques. According to him, around 400 of these primates live in groups across Monkey Hill. Although they are not aggressive and do not approach humans like most temple monkeys, caution should be exercised when visiting with young children. At the bottom of the hill is a colorful shrine dedicated to three holy spirits. : Toh Sae Dang, Toh Sae Dam and Toh Sae Kaow. It’s usually the busiest on Fridays, although it’s open daily. Lots of people come here to ask for lottery numbers.

A rudimentary exercise park is located halfway up Monkey Hill. Unlike other viewpoints in Phuket, the views along the way are better than at the summit. TV stations and satellite towers dominate the discussion, obscuring the view of Phuket. In addition to the platform, several seats overlook Phuket Harbour, the coastal city, and the Andaman Sea. You can go to the viewpoint and summit by car or motorbike, but be careful as the hill is quite steep.

The road to the summit will be closed to traffic from 5 pm m. to 8 pm. It’s not long, but the incline makes it quite challenging to go fast. Located at the foot of Monkey Hill, Green Forest Restaurant offers affordable Thai cuisine with expansive views of Koh Siray and the east coast.
