Nai Thon Beach

Nai Thon Beach

Nai Thon Beach is a beautiful sandy beach on the west coast of Phuket. It’s a great place to escape the crowds and enjoy a peaceful swim. Nai Thon is a town with two seasons. During high season, hotels fill up, the sea is shallow, calm, and crystal clear, and beach bars pop up where you can dine barefoot in the sand. In the off-season, the boot is on the other foot…

It’s almost a ghost town with occasional rough seas. Secluded and rarely crowded, Naithon Beach is west of Phuket. Diving activities. The famous Elephant Jungle Sanctuary is also in Naithon, where you can even give the elephants a little mud bath!

The trip to Nai Thon Beach is more pleasant than the beach. At the southern entrance to the beach, a narrow path cuts through one of Phuket’s last pristine rainforests and meanders along the coast. If you are coming from the north, the road will take you through a village and into a lush green valley before reaching the beach. The dive shops on Beach Road organize them.

What to do in Nai Thon Beach- An Overview

Naithon Beach is one of those little-known beaches on the west coast of Phuket, away from crowded areas like Patong Beach or Kata Beach. People have chosen to stay here to find a quiet village with enough restaurants and hotels not to feel too isolated but still have all the necessary facilities for a great vacation. As Phuket is such a small island, you can always hire a car and drive to Patong for a fun evening or further south for a day of exploring.

The beach is a surprisingly long and wide strip, well-shaded by tall trees and bisected by a small rock formation. Walk past these rocks to reach an even more private area of Naithon. The sand is soft and is excellent in the high season. There are sun loungers, parasols and drinks, and a small restaurant at the south end of Naithon. Naithon is one of the best beaches in Phuket.

There used to be more restaurants on the beach, but they have disappeared. There are a few places across the street for good Thai food.

Naithon is one of Phuket’s fabulous beaches in high season, but it can feel a little deserted in the off-season. Keep in mind that swimming is not recommended (from July to November). Banana Beach is a small hidden cove away from the crowds, not far from Naithon. It’s remained relatively quiet because it’s off the main roads and a little challenging to find and reach, and most tourists are pretty lazy when walking to the beach is tiring. The beach is beautiful, with tall coconut trees lining the soft white sand and clear blue water. There is a local restaurant during the high season.

What to Eat?

Inthanon Naithon is a lovely little restaurant on the beach’s soft sand. The place is hard to find but worth the effort. Low-key Naithon Beach is unique and pleasant. Second, it’s close to the trendy Naithon Staircase on Instagram.

Pru Restaurant in Trisara Phuket is the first and only restaurant to be awarded a star by the new Michelin Guide. Michelin only came to Phuket in 2018 with much-anticipated nominations. Although many restaurants on the island have received BIBs and dishes from the Michelin guide, being the only one with a star means a lot and raises customer expectations.
